Senior Adult Ministries

Senior Adult Ministries

Our seniors are the legacy of the church. With many foundational members, we encourage seniors to stay active and in the heart of the family of God.  Although we have no formal seniors pastor, nor do we have an age requirement (you know who you are!)  we do have some standing older adult events at Highpoint.

George Barnette teaches the seniors Sunday school.  Although the curriculum changes, the content is all bible-based and rooted in prayer.  Additionally, many of our seniors are involved in planning and executing annual events like the Harvest Dinner, Easter Breakfast, and more.  Highpoint Community Outreach, the compassionate arm of our church, offers a free monthly meal to any in need, and the twice monthly Mobile Market distributes fresh produce and food to Delaware families. These two community ministries are staffed heavily by the seniors at Highpoint. Rather than coasting through retirement, we know that our senior members want to continue to build on the family foundation and continue to run the race!

Typically, the seniors meet the third Saturday of the month at noon for a potluck luncheon at church, and periodically gather for impromptu events.
