We have a many-faceted children’s program at Highpoint. From nursery, Sunday School and Children’s Church for all ages on Sunday morning to Wednesday night Caravan, we believe in teaching our children to love God.
Using a bible-based curriculum, our teachers and volunteers use song, stories and activities to help children absorb the word of God. Sunday School, which begins at 9am weekly, covers all age ranges. Except for nursery-aged children, our kids join the congregation for song worship on Sundays, and receive their own bulletin filled with bible-based activities, before being dismissed to an age-appropriate sermon or story.
Wednesday evening, Caravan, a Christian-based scouting program, is available for ages pre-school and up. These children earn badges, play games, and join in activities all focused on living Christ-centered lives. We desire our children to grow into mature, Godly teenagers and ultimately adults, and to teach our kids to live for God in their homes, schools and neighborhoods.
For the older students who are not yet in junior high, quizzing is available as well. This is a bible knowledge competitive team of students. Be careful about challenging these quizzers! They are grounded in the word and fast with a buzzer.
Highpoint offers both annual Children’s programming in the form of musical and dramatic productions, as well as holiday parties and events (such as egg hunts or trunk or treat). We also have family fun nights on the first and third Friday of every month. The first Friday usually opens the gym for basketball, volleyball or board games, while the second generally sports a “themed” event (like a movie night, gong show, etc). We want to build up our children and recognize that family time is one way to do that.
Highpoint recognizes the need for the safety and security of our children. Our teachers go through an application, interview and background screen, and are periodically (informally) evaluated. If you would like more information on children’s events, please let us know by clicking here!
