Director of Highpoint Community Outreach
I was saved as a little girl, but in my late 20’s I went through a period of time where I felt that I had made too many wrong choices and walked away from my faith because I didn’t think I was worthy of God’s love and forgiveness. However, God pursued me relentlessly and showed me complete grace and unconditional love, and I fully committed my life to Him around the age of 30. He has been my hope and stay through all of life’s ups and downs. He called me to full time ministry serving the least of these in whatever capacity that looks like, and I have committed the rest of my life to His call. My life’s theme is “I have decided to follow Jesus – no turning back, no turning back. Even if none go with me.”
Sharon has been at Highpoint since she was born. She has been in ministry positions around Columbus and Delaware, including her current position as the Executive Director of the Common Ground Free Store. She has worked at the Lower Lights Christian Health Center, Mission of Sight, and founded the Highpoint Community Outreach. She is married to Jason, and they have four beautiful daughters, Ashley, Amy, Alyssa and Aubrey, two sons-in-law, two grandsons. Her favorite thing to do is spend family time, but she also enjoys reading, running, playing the piano/singing, home decorating. And Go Bucks!
Sharon says, ” I have been with Highpoint since I was born. I have a rich heritage in this church. It is my home. My parents faithfully raised me in this church. My grandparents donated the land that built Delaware Church of the Nazarene on Curtis Street back in the 60’s. My family wanted to help build the Kingdom of God in this city through this church, and I think, how can I do any less? I want to see Highpoint Church become a beacon of light to this community where lives can be changed through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
