Pastor Ben Powers
"I am a child of divorce, but in both households we regularly attended church. I accepted Christ as a young boy in my bed at home after attending Vacation Bible School. After walking through some hard times, and realizing that I needed to surrender everything to God, my bed became my altar again and I gave God total control. Not long after, he called me into Ministry - asking me to "Shepherd His Flock". My favorite passage is Philippians 2, specifically - "In humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests, but to the interests of others." And that is the passage I strive to live by every day."
Pastor Ben began his ministry over a decade ago as a Youth Pastor, and then served as a Lead Pastor at two small churches in north central Ohio. Ben is an Ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene. Ben's passion for families is expressed daily in his role as the Executive Director for Family Promise of Delaware County. He and his wife, Emily, have four wonderful children; Evelyn, Beckett, Annabel & Clementine. Pastor Ben enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports and playing strategy board games.
Pastor Ben says, "My family and I came to Delaware during a time of transition, unsure of what or where God would lead us next. Little did we know, God's plan for us was right here in Delaware and right here at Highpoint. We have felt so loved and supported in our time here. Emily & I are passionate about teaching children and helping families grow in their faith. We are excited about the future as we serve the children and families of our church."
